A Sparta man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident on Washington Road in Thomson, authorities said.
Samuel Heath, 52, was a passenger in a Honda Accord that ran a red light at the corner of Harrison Road and Washington Road in front of Farmer's Furniture. A Ford pickup truck driven by Barney Zellers struck the Accord before turning over upside down on the corner of the intersection. The Accord, driven by Gladys Jackson, was pushed onto the shoulder of Harrison Road.
As of Tuesday, Mr. Zellers had been discharged from the Medical College of Georgia, while Ms. Jackson was listed in good condition.
