THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. Robert W. Mayo Sr., 69, is gone to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Ruth S. Mayo, of 50 years.
He died Monday, March 1, 2004, in Doctors Hospital. Graveside services were held Thursday, March 4, 2004, in Westview Cemetery with the Revs. Dan White and Mark Taylor officiating.
Mr. Mayo was a native of Columbia County. He was a retired Teamster Truck Driver and was currently employed at the Gordon Lakes Golf Course at Fort Gordon. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.
The family said he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include three daughters, Cindy Fuller, Thomson, Cheryl Loungeway, Grovetown and Debbie Taylor, Fayetteville; his son, Robert W. Mayo Jr., Newnan; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
