AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mr. J. Lester Simons, age 79, entered into rest Sunday, March 7 at University Hospital.
Mr. Simons was the beloved husband of Margaret Hulsey Simons. He was from Jefferson County but had lived in the Augusta area since 1958. Mr. Simons had retired from Liquid Air as a Plant Operator and was currently employed with Budget Rental Car and was a member of First Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 10, at Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel with Elder Max Hicks officiating. Interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Survivors include two sons, Ken Simons and wife Lisa, of Martinez, Jimmy Hulsey and wife Elaine, of Thomson; three daughters, Brenda Croft and husband Dale, of Barnwell, S.C., Debbie Davis of Martinez, and Marsha Hulsey of Martinez; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer 'Bonnie' Simons of Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Louise Ard of Charleston, S.C. and Vivian Newsome of Port Wentworth and numerous nieces and nephews.
