Mrs. Sara Reville Grider
Retired US Postal Service

HARLEM, Ga. - Mrs. Sara Reville Grider, 77, wife of Mr. Gene Grider, entered into rest on Monday, March 3, 2008, at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Old Union Baptist Church. Interment was in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Grider was born in Harlem to the late Jesse and Myrtice Reville. She was a 1947 graduate of Harlem High School. After 26 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service, "Miss Sara" retired in 1989 with 21 years as the Postmaster of the Harlem Post Office. She was a member of Old Union Baptist Church where she served on the finance team. Mrs. Grider was a Sunshine Girl with the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association Chapter 1634 in Thomson.

In addition to her husband, survivors include one son Galen E. Grider (Shelley), Greenville, Ala.; two daughters, Sheila G. Wahman (Chris), Evans, and Joletta G. Cason (John, Jr.), Appling; and one sister Mary Lois Burroughs, Harlem. She was affectionately known as 'NaNaw' to her nine grandchildren Kristina Cason, Anna Cason, Zachary Grider, Amelia Grider, Trey Hobbs, Alexandr Wahman, Joseph Wahman, Michael Wahman and Sarah Wahman.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the Ministry of Old Union Baptist Church, 6095 Old Union Road, Harlem, GA 30814, American Heart Association, PO Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384, or American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd. Augusta, GA 30909.

Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
