THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Tappan, 92, of Thomson, formerly of Athens, entered into rest March 3, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Kerr officiating. Graveside services followed at 3:30 p.m. Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens.
Mrs. Tappan was born in Clarke County and was the daughter of the late Samuel Stone and the late Lenora Shy Stone. She was very active in PTO, the Home Demonstration Club and a volunteer for the Athens-Clarke County 4-H Club for many years. Mrs. Tappan was also a founding member of the Interstate Trailer Club and a member of First United Methodist Church in Athens.
Survivors include her daughter: Dot Cofer and her husband, Wendy of Thomson; grandchildren: Rhonwyn Fulcher, N. Augusta, David Fulcher, Athens, Katie Henthorn and her husband, Wade, Harlem, Hal Keller and his wife, Elaine, Harlem; great-grandchildren, Scottie Keller and Anna Keller.
