Jody Thomas, Registered Nurse on the Medical/Surgical floor, is the February Golden Heart award winner at McDuffie Regional Medical Center.

Many of her coworkers said Ms. Thomas challenges them to keep their spirits high and positive.
She presents a composed and confident attitude when working with patients and their families, her supervisor said.
"Jody has a calming disposition and puts patients at ease," said Peggy Barmore, Chief Nursing Executive.
This attitude helps the medical/surgical floor run smoothly.
"She is always ready to assist the Intensive Care Unit in any way possible," said Wanda Swafford, RN. "Jody, from time to time, will call on me to help out or answer questions, and always thanks me in the end. That makes me feel appreciated and also helps both units work as a team. I feel Jody is a good representative for McDuffie Regional Medical Center."
Ms. Thomas strives to maintain a good rapport with the physicians.
"Jody is an excellent nurse and a valued asset to our facility," said Dr. Susan Land, Family Practice. "She goes above and beyond the call of duty on a regular and routine basis. Jody's genuine concern for her patients and desire to provide the best possible care deserves commendation. She is a true role model for the whole nursing profession. Congratulations, Jody! It is well-deserved."
