Davis weds Dunn in Sweetwater ceremony

Lindsay Jolane Davis and Jerry Lee Dunn were united in marriage on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at 6 p.m., at Sweetwater Baptist Church in Thomson. Rev. Kenneth Garvin officiated the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Alfred L. "Joe" Davis.

Matrons of honor were Anissa Balch of Gainesville, Ga., and Cheri Edmunds of Lawrenceville, Ga., both sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amanda Chester, friend of the bride, Thomson; Elizabeth Goldman, friend of the bride, Thomson; April Hadden, friend of the bride, Thomson; and Erica Jansen, friend of the bride, Augusta. Junior bridesmaids were Ashlyn Balch, niece of the bride, Gainesville; and Nicole Dunn, niece of the groom, Athens. Flower girls were Emily Mae Edmunds, niece of the bride and honorary flower girls were Jenifer Dunn, niece of the groom, Athens; and Elizabeth Lyn Edmunds, niece of the bride, Lawrenceville.

Groomsmen were Matt Chester, friend of the groom, Thomson; James Dunn III, brother of the groom, Athens; and Mitchell Eley, friend of the groom, White Plains, Ga. The ring bearer was Ryan Balch, Gainesville, nephew of the bride.

The wedding director was Judy Rawlins and photographer was Paul DeJong. Music was provided by Kathleen Usry, clavinova; Steve Holbert, trumpet; and soloists, Leslie Oliphant and Jason Timmerman.

The bride is the daughter of Alfred L. "Joe" Davis and Linda L. Davis of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of the late George D. Layton and Jessie Mae Layton of Chelsea, Okla., and the late Harold and Irene Davis of Chelsea, Okla.

The groom is the son of James D. Dunn, Jr., and Emily C. Dunn of Clarkesville, Ga. He is the grandson of the late Lawrence F. Calloway and the late Annette Ogletree Calloway of Greensboro and James D. Dunn, Sr., and the late Virginia Dunn of Sparta.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Belle Meade Country Club in Thomson. They took a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas. They are now residing in Thomson.
