Mrs. Nannette Boyd McBurney Rennison

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Nannette Boyd McBurney Rennison, 72, entered into rest on Friday, March 16, 2007, at the Medical College of Georgia, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Rennison was born in Thomson to the late Dykins McBurney, Sr., and Nina James McBurney. She was a life-long resident of Augusta. Mrs. Rennison was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had been a member of the Barton Chapel United Methodist Church for more than 65 years and served as Vacation Bible School Coordinator and Sunday School Teacher. One of her greatest joys in life was raising her family and caring for them in every way. Mrs. Rennison was also a self-taught artist who enjoyed drawing and painting.

Survivors include a loving and devoted husband, Mr. Thomas H. Rennison, Sr.; son, Thomas H. Rennison Jr. (Kay Rhodes); daughters, Karen Shonkwiler (Terry), Lynn Rennison; and Venetia Teston (Doug), one brother, Dykins McBurney, Jr. (Elizabeth); nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Nannette Rennison.

Memorials may be made to Barton Chapel UMC, in memory of Nannette Rennison, 3414 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.

Pallbearers were Brian Berry, Jesse Ivey, Ryan Fricks, Josh Dorminy, Louie Gunn, and Jeff Robinson.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 19, 2007, at 3:30 p.m in the Chance and Hydrick Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta. Internment was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
