Administrative professionals will be the center of attention on April 26. The McDuffie County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 18th annual luncheon in honor of Administrative Professionals' Day.
The festivities will consist of a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the old Box Factory on Black Street. The award for administrative professional of the year will be given out at the luncheon.
Nominations for the award are still needed from employers. Contact the Chamber of Commerce at 597-1000 to get a nomination form. The winner will receive roses and several other gifts donated by chamber member businesses.
"This is something that the chamber has been sponsoring for years," said Chamber Director Carolyn Gilbert. "It's a way for businesses to honor their support staff."
The menu at the event will be presented from the culinary expertise of Thomson City Councilman Kenneth Usry - also of Regions Bank. After lunch, administrative professionals will be treated to some surprise entertainment and door prizes.
Organizers were quick to thank all of the local merchants for their generosity and support of the luncheon. They said the luncheon is a way to honor those whose work might not be in the spotlight very often.
Tickets for the event are $20, and reservations should be made by April 19. Those interested in attending should also contact the Chamber for tickets.
