THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Dera Helen Brooks Davis, 74, widow of Mr. Ramsey Davis, died Saturday March 18, 2006, in the Medical College of Georgia.
Funeral services were held 4 p.m. Tuesday March 21, 2006 in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Sonny Peevy and Rev. Don Widener officiating. Burial followed in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens
Mrs. Davis was a native of Glascock County a Homemaker and a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramsey Davis; son Robert Montgomery; parents, John Alvin and Nellie Norris Brooks; brothers, John Willie Brooks, Thomas Brooks, Max Brooks, and Earl Brooks; granddaughter, Melinda Griffin and a sister Jean B. Laney.
Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, Charles Montgomery of Thomson and Barry Davis of Laurens, S.C.; three daughters, Sandra M. Lindley of McCormick, S.C., Cathy D. Griffin of Clinton, S.C., and Peggy D. Pounds of Tennille; two brothers, Sammy S. Brooks of Beach Island, S.C., and John A Brooks, Jr. of Thomson; three sisters, Sara Lee Morrison of Lincolnton, Mary Julia Connor of Hiawassee, Ga. and Wanda Louise Stoker of Warrenville, S.C.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
