Dr. L. Malcolm Johnson
Retired M.D.

JONESBORO, Ga. - Dr. L. Malcolm Johnson, M. D., 70, entered into rest March 16, 2006 in Milledgeville.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2006, in the Jonesboro United Methodist Church with Revs. Jerry Newton and Charles F. Robinson officiating. Burial followed in the Camak UMC Cemetery, Camak.

Dr. Johnson was born July 6, 1935 in Warren County, son of the late Roger Johnson and Ruth Gheesling Johnson. He graduated from Thomson High School Class of 1954, the University of Georgia and University of Tennessee School of Medicine. He was an Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War, and the Panama Canal Zone. He retired in 1999 as co-owner of Industrial Medical Center of Hapeville, Ga. He was a member of Jonesboro UMC.

Survivors include two sons, David Roger Johnson, Buckhead, and Richard Paul Johnson, South Haven, Miss.; two daughters, Mittie Diane Tate, Athens, Ga., and Victoria Ruth Johnson, Goodlettsville, Tenn.; one brother, J. B. Johnson, Thomson; two sisters, Catherine Groover, Morrow, and Shirley Campbell, Baltimore; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Cameron, David, and Samantha.

Memorials may be made to the Jonesboro UMC, 142 S. Main St. Jonesboro GA 30236.

Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
