Mrs. Joan B. Rachels

WARRENTON, Ga. -- Mrs. Joan B. Rachels, wife of Mr. T. Larry Rachels, entered into rest March 15, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2005 at First Baptist Church, Warrenton with Dr. Rob Bray officiating. Burial followed in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Rachels was a native of Richmond County, but had lived in Warren County for many years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she served in the Children's Nursery Department, the Music Makers Childrens' Choir, Rejoice Choir, the Sanctuary Choir, and served as bookkeeper for Forest and Land Services for many years.

Survivors include her husband, T. Larry Rachels; two sons, Andy Rachels, Atlanta and Jeremy Rachels, Warrenton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Brewer, Warrenton; a sister in law, Carolyn W. Brewer; nephew, Chris Brewer and niece, Christi Brewer all of Thomson; and a friend of the family, Vicki Stalvey, Peachtree City GA. Mrs. Rachels was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Brewer.

Pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were members of Warrenton First Baptist Church and their children.

Lowe Funeral Home Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
