A solider with 17 years of service, Staff Sgt. McCord is currently stationed in North Carolina and working out of the Sanford Recruiting Station.
He was recently recognized as a top recruiting officer and top new recruiter. He also received a trophy and a special badge, according to his mother, Lucy M. Ross of Thomson.
Staff Sgt. McCord is married to the former Sharon Scott of Warrenton. They have two children, LaPorsha and Carla.
Staff Sgt. McCord is the son of Ms. Ross and Retired Sgt. L.C. McCord of Thomson.
