THOMSON, Ga. - On March 16, 2006, Leroy Wilson was called home to rest.
He was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County. He was a life member at Liberty Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he served well until his declining health.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. Orian Jones Wilson; two daughters, Chavala L. Wilson, Decatur, Ga. and Rev. Linda W. Alford of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Jackson and June Wilson, both of Atlanta; one son-in-law, George L. Alford of Columbus, Ga.; one brother-in-law, James Jackson of Atlanta; two sisters-in-law, Lorene Jones of Winston Salem, N.C. and Vera Wilson of Flint, Mich.; three grandchildren, Leron Alford and Barrington Alford, both of Decatur and Jaden Brown of Decatur; one great-grandchild, Nazareth Alford of Atlanta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 1 p.m. Eulogist were Rev. F.D. Favors and Rev. Bobbie Fann, with the Rev. F.D. Favors officiating. Interment was at the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
