After sitting out the 2004 football season because of medical problems, Arcephus "Big Cephus" Jones worked through spring practice and is ready for next season. And at 6'3, 305 pounds, Arcephus should make a big impact on the field.
"He will help win the games," said Bulldog Head Coach Luther Welsh.
Last season, Arcephus served as Thomson High's biggest cheerleader, walking the sidelines and encouraging his fellow Bulldogs. When the 2005 season starts in August, he's already got goals for his team.
"I want the team to win all the games and do much better than last year," Arcephus said.
He also offered a little advice to upcoming freshmen.
"Work hard, don't complain, and do what you are told to do by a coach without asking why," he said.
Coach Welsh already has a playbook for the freshmen.
"I going to teach them the basic fundamentals of football and how to be good men," he said.
