On March 7 at 7 p.m., Thomson High School held its 4th Annual Miss Thomson High Pageant. There were four freshmen, eight sophomores, four juniors, and one senior for a total of 17 contestants.
Not only did Jennifer McCall want the girls to "be themselves, work on communication skills, and have fun," there were a couple of requirements that the girls had to follow. All contestants must be in grades 9-12 and attend Thomson High School. None of the contestants could have ever been married or been a parent. Each student must have a minimum of a "C" average cumulative in all classes. Student can never have been suspended or assigned ISS this school year.
Valerie Freeman won Miss Congeniality, while Bryanna Pilgram won Miss Photogenic. Cheryl Helmly won Miss Freshman, Rebecca "Becky" Williams won Miss Sophomore, Ali Mays won Miss Junior, and Denikca "Dee" Davis won Miss Senior. Valerie Freeman won First Runner Up and Danette Schulte was crowned Miss Thomson High 2004-2005.
Former Miss Thomson High, Ashley Clary, also attended the pageant and wanted to give her congratulations to the new Miss Thomson High.
"It was an honor to be Miss Thomson High, last year. I want to congratulate Danette and hope that she will hold her title with honor," she said.
