Bales-Matherly Julie Gay of Thomson announces the engagement of her daughter, Ashley Bales of Thomson, to Ross Matherly, Sr., of Thomson, the son of Ann and Monroe Matherly of Thomson. The wedding will be held April 16, 2005, beginning at 7 p.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Following the ceremony a reception will be held at Sweetwater Fellowship Hall. The future bride is the granddaughter of Edward and Marie Bales of Thomson. The future groom is the grandson of Ulysses and the late Lorena Matherly of Englewood, Fla., and Mary Telford and the late Harold Telford of Gainesville. Miss Bales attended Thomson High School. She is presently employed at Velstar Medical Transportation. Mr. Matherly is a graduate of Southern Christian Academy. He is employed at Temple Inland. Web posted on Thursday, March 31, 2005
