THOMSON, Ga. -- Mr. James Roscoe McGahee, 90, of Thomson, entered into rest March 20, 2005 at his residence.
Mr. McGahee was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County. He was retired as a representative with Southland Insurance Company after 32 years of service. Mr. McGahee was also a member of Thomson Church of God.
Survivors include, brother-in-law and best friend, Earl Marshall; niece and guardian, Rosemary Robinson (Jerry); brother-in-law, Wendall Marshall (Fannie Mae); sister-in-law, Vivian Brooks (Lloyd); nieces, Pat Marshall Thrush, Jean Marshall Shelton and Martha Massingale; nephews, Marion Marshall, Rodney Marshall, Greg McGahee, Michael (Donna) Brooks and Chris (Jill) Brooks; loving friend and caregiver, Lynn and Wayne Whitaker and additional caregivers, Sonja Whitaker and Martha Bailey. Mr. McGahee was preceded in death by a son and daughter, his wife, Lois Marshall McGahee and his parents, Electius McGahee and Hattie Holliman McGahee.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Thomson Church of God with Rev. Ron Lawson officiating. Interment followed in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Wayne Scott, Lee Burgess, Andy Burgess, Don Freeman, Daniel Phillips and Harold Phillips.
