THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Manis Teasley Davis, 79, entered into rest on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta.
Mr. Davis was born in Greenwood, S.C., and was the son of the late Rev. Arthur M. Davis and the late Thelma Burdashaw Davis. He had lived most of his life in Lincoln County and retired as a carpenter and from the military after 28 years of service. Mr Davis was a member of the Carpenters Union #283 and had served his country honorably during the Korean War and the Cuban Crisis.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lois B. Davis; three sons, Manis H. Davis and wife, Joanna of Thomson, James M. Davis and wife Julie of Martinez, Stephen R. Davis and wife Sharon of Martinez; three daughters, Carol D. Chaney and husband, Steve of Evans, Judith D. Gilman and husband, Gary of Panama City Beach, Fl. and Connie M. Davis of Tennessee; three sisters, Valeria D. Rainaud and husband, Ray of Lincolnton, Verna D. Fowler of Canon, Ga., Rallie D. McCoy and husband, John of Franklin Springs, Ga.; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Farmer and Rev. John McCoy officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Rees Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
