THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Alva C. Dixie Hunt, 85, widow of Mr. Robert Hunt, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 in McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday March 31st, in the Mesena United Methodist Church with Rev. Pete Strals officiating. Burial was in the Westview Cemetery.
Ms. Hunt was a native of Hancock County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was retired from the Thomson Company. She was a member of the Wrightsboro Home Demostration. She was a member of the Mesena United Methodist Church, where she held various official positions. She was a Sunday School teacher, was very active in the U.M.W, and she was also active in the District U.M.W.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Ned Harbeson, Thomson; her four grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Sandifer, Lawton (Rindi) Harbeson, Ben Harbeson and Rosemary Harbeson; two great-grandchildren, Abby Sandifer and Henry Harbeson; and a special friend and companion, Florida Bell McNair.
Pallbearers were Robert Cheely, Wayne Cheely, David Cheely, Jon Ware, Ben Harbeson and Lawton Harbeson.
Donations may be made to the Mesena United Methodist Church.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
