The Ansley Family Association will hold their 28th Annual Ansley Family Reunion in Thomson on April 15-17.
The weekend events begin with hospitality time at the Thomson-McDuffie Museum (building at the corner of Main Street and First Avenue). This building was formerly the First National Bank building. Food and fellowship will be enjoyed from 6-9:30 p.m.
Saturday's activities begin at the Museum Building with the business meeting at 9 a.m. Old and new business will be conducted, along with the election of officers for the 2005-2007 term. The selection of a reunion site for 2006 and reunion updates. Speakers will include Michelle Zupan, who will give advice on the preservation of historical family artifacts -- Bibles, quilts, pictures, etc.
Afternoon activities begin at 2 p.m. with tours of Hickory Hill, the historic adulthood home of Thomas E. Watson, and the "Rock Dam" located near Wrightsboro.
A catered banquet will take place that evening at 7 p.m. at the Family Life Center of the First United Methodist Church of Thomson.
The reunion concludes on Sunday with a nondenominational church service at 10 a.m. at the historic Wrightsboro Church.
