AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Reese James, 76, beloved wife of the late Lee A. James, entered into rest Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Westwood Nursing Home.
Mrs. James was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area and is the daughter of the late Mary Lou Welch Reese and William C. Reese.
Before her retirement, she was an employee for 33 years at Bungalow Road School in the Food Service Department. Mrs. James was a member of Fleming Christian Church.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2007, from the Chapel of DeLoach Kennedy Funeral Home in Hephzibah with Rev. Mark Taylor and Rev. Dan White officiating. Interment services followed at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Avera, Ga.
Pallbearers were Brad James, Lathan Parkman, Joey Gill, Sr., Joey Gill, Jr., Chuck Reese, and Mike Yates.
Family members include a son, William Andrew James of Augusta; one sister, Linda Owens of Martinez; and two brothers, Vic Reese and his wife, B. J., of Thomson, Charles M. Reese and his wife, Donna, of Shreveport, La., and numerous nieces and nephews.
DeLoach Kennedy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
