AVERA, Ga. - Mr. Judson Lamar Kitchens, 60, the husband of 37 years to Bobbie Kitchens, entered into rest Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at MCG Hospital.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 8, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Roy Smith, Rev. Donald Lumpkin and Gary Hutchins officiating. Burial followed at church cemetery.
Mr. Kitchens was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a member of the Adult men Sunday School Class. Mr. Kitchens was retired from Georgia Tennessee Mine Company, retired as a Fire Chief in Avera Fire Department and a member of Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Kristi) Kitchens; two sisters, Betty Ann Kitchens, Avera, Ga.; Alice K. Reynolds, Warthen, Ga.; and a brother: William P. Kitchens, Thomson; five nieces; Marie Durden, Cathy Woods, Kellen Sheppard, April Arrington, Heather Sheppard; three nephews, Dr. Chris Sheppard, William Reynolds and Jamie Reynolds.
Pallbearers were Dr. Chris Sheppard, William Reyonlds, Russell Clark, Lonnie Ledger, Anthony Clark, Julian Kitchens. Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. Celellatin Ustun, Brent Limbaugh, Dr. Anand Jillela, Deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and Jefferson County Fireman.
