HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. C. W. "Chuck" Oglesby, 80, beloved husband of Mrs. Alice W. Oglesby entered into rest Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Eisenhower Medical Center.
Mr. Oglesby was born in Garfield, GA to the late Clarence W. Oglesby, Sr. and Lola Johnson Oglesby. While in the U.S. Army, Mr. Oglesby served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star. Mr. Oglesby retired in 1968 from the U.S. Army. He went to work for Columbia Nitrogen as an electrician and worked there until his second retirement.
Graveside memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Hephzibah - Vance Cemetery with Rev. Wade McBride officiating.
Additional family members include a son, Clarence W. Oglesby, III, and his wife, Amy, of Thomson; two daughters, Georgia Hasselbacher and her husband, Bill, of Hephzibah, and Lois Leach of Hephzibah; one sister, Juanita Jenkins, of Brooklet; five grandchildren, Michelle DeRoboam, Tina Schneider, Clarence W. Oglesby, IV, James Michael Leach, and Joshua Oglesby; three great-grandchildren, Danielle Chavous, Gage Schneider, and Benjamin Chavous, Jr, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Oglesby was preceded in death by a son, Charles Russell Oglesby and six brothers and two sisters.
