THOMSON, Ga. -- Rev. G. Hubert Story, Jr., 69, of Shiloh Rd., Thomson, entered into rest April 6, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Price Story, Thomson; daughters, Lisa S. Neilson (Stephen), Island Lake, Ill. and Amy S. Hilliard (John), Dearing; sisters, Joyce S. Brunson (Sam), Thomson, and Patricia S. Harrison (Roger), Thomson; grandchildren, Chase and Casey Hilliard.
Rev. Story was a native of McDuffie County and was the son of the late George Hubert Story, Sr. and the late Evelyn Jones Story. He served in the U. S. Army, served at the Minister of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Augusta and was a member of the North Georgia Conference of United Methodist Ministers for over 25 years.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jane Brooks officiating. Interment followed in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Keith Land, Josh Land, Dave Hunter, Neal Hunter, Ken McClellan, Matt Pike, Ronald Waller, Jesse Reese and Rick Kinney. Honorary Pallbearers were ministers from the Augusta District of United Methodist Ministers.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Joseph Hospice or MCG Cancer Research.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
