CHICAGO, Ill.- Mr. Ira Charles "Zak" Zakarian, 79, beloved husband of Frances Willoughby Zakarian, died Thursday March 25, 2004, in St, James Hospital, Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Zakarian was born in Chicago, Ill. To Mary and Garabed Zakarian, who preceded him in death, He was brother to Agnes Yeransian and Sarkis Zakarian, who are deceased.
Zak was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Force, serving his Country from 1943 to 1946.
Following the completion of his military duties, Zak returned to Chicago and his job with the Federal Reserve Bank, where he was employed for more than 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, several nieces and nephews, all of Chicago area and three sisters in laws, Annie Laurie Caldewell, Lexington, Ga., Mabel Lowe and Edna Stewart of Thomson.
Zak spent many vacations in the Camellia City, and made a host of friends, who are grieved by his passing. He will be fondly remembered.
