Lewis Family Homecoming and Bluegrass Festival set for May 1-3

p>Adams and Anderson LLC, promoters, announce that the 21st Annual Homecoming & Bluegrass Festival will take place at Elijah Clark State Park, on May 1-3.

The First Family of Bluegrass Gospel music, The Lewis Family, will host this event and performs two shows daily. Special features of the show this year will be the Lewis Family, members of The Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and IBMA Hall of Honor. Also, Jimmy C. Newman and Cajun Country, The Legendary Jesse McReynolds, and Bobby Osborne all from The Grand Ole Opry, and Open Stage will be held daily beginning at 11 a.m.

This year's terrific talent lineup for Thursday which begins at 12 p.m. features Carolina Sonshine, The James King Band, The Grascals (IBMA Entertainers of the Year 2006 and 2007), Lonesome Will Mullins & The Virginia Playboys. Special guest appearances by Little Roy Lewis and Lizzie Long all three days.

Friday's fabulous lineup of talent begins at 12 noon and features Heavens Echoes, The Golden Valley Crusaders, Dailey-Vincent Band, and Jesse McReynolds & The Virginia Boys (Grand Ole Opry) and The Chuck Wagon Gang.

Saturday's super lineup of talent begins at 12 noon and features The Jones Brothers & Log Cabin Boys, Barry Scott & Second Wind, The Primitive Quartet, Bobby Osborne & The Rocky Top X-press (Grand Ole Opry), Jimmy C. Newman & Cajun Country (Grand Ole Opry) will perform one 75 minute show at 8:30 p.m.

Show goes on rain or shine, Thursday 12 noon-10 p.m., Friday 12 noon-10 p.m., Saturday 12 noon-10 p.m. Daily open stage one hour before showtime. Large tent provided in case of rain. Please bring lawn chairs, hot food on premises. Sound provided by Gene Daniell with Sherry Boyd from Mt. Airy, NC as emcee.

Tickets will be available at the gate. Daily tickets are $30, three-day adult advance ticket $75, before April 20. At the gate $85. A special after 6 p.m. ticket daily $20, children's tickets $15 per day or three-day $40. (Children under 6 free with parents) Advance tickets available locally at Wengrow & Goldman in Lincolnton.
