Thomson High's Tim Daniels, one of the main sparkplugs to the Bulldogs' offense in basketball this past season, recently was named to the All-Area Second Team by The Augusta Chronicle.
A senior, Daniels averaged 17 points and six rebounds per game. As point guard, Daniels ignited the Bulldogs' offense in several games.
His first cousin, LaQuinton Fort, also a senior, was given honors by the newspaper, too. Fort was named Honorable Mention for his outstanding efforts on the basketball court at Thomson.
Three other area players - all from Warren County High School - also have received recognition from The Chronicle.
Two of them played on the Screaming Devils' team. They included Travis Burley and Tommy Seals - both of whom were named Honorable Mention for their outstanding play in Class A. Burley and Seals, both seniors, will be playing college football in the fall.
Candice Warthen, a sophomore, meanwhile, was named Honorable Mention for her star abilities with the Warren County High Lady Screaming Devils.
