Maxwell chosen to be part of state education bus tour

Maxwell Elementary has been chosen as a stop for the 14th annual bus trip of the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education.

Maxwell Elementary Principal Dr. Mychele Swain received an e-mail notice from Deidra Johnson, the GPEE policy and research director, informing her of this honor.

"Your school was selected through a rigorous and selective process that included an extensive analysis of school data on state assessments, demographic data, and other academic indicators. Maxwell Elementary is one of 14 schools out of a pool of 119 schools that the bus trip will visit," Ms. Johnson said in the email.

The bus trip will take place sometime in the fall of 2006. Dr. Swain said she does not yet know the date of the visit.

"The faculty, staff and students are looking forward to sharing our achievements with the visitors of the 2006 bus tour. Maxwell Elementary is continuing to bridge the gap between all students and look forward to sharing our successes with others. This is exciting news for the Mighty Max," Dr. Swain said.
