Mr. and Mrs. John M. Alley Jr., of Martinez, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Marie Alley, to Trey Kernaghan, son of Ms. Gail G. Kernaghan and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kernaghan Jr., all of Augusta.
The wedding is planned for 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2006, at the Marion Hatcher Center in Augusta.
Miss Alley is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gaines Driver and Mr. and Mrs. John M. Alley Sr., all of Thomson.
She is a graduate of Evans High School and Augusta State University. She is employed by the Columbia County Board of Education as a first grade teacher.
Mr. Kernaghan is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Graf of Park Ridge, Ill., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert E. Kernaghan Sr., of Augusta.
He is a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and Georgia Southern University. He is employed by Southern Foam & Coating, Inc., as the South Carolina District Vice President.
