Mr. Marvin L. Johnson
THOMSON, Ga. -- Mr. Marvin L. Johnson, 88, widower of Mrs. Evelyn Johnson, died Thursday, April 21, 2005, in the Warrenton Health and Rehab.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, in the Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was a native of McDuffie County. He was the retired District Office Manager in Thomson for Jefferson Energy. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, having served in the European theater. He was a longtime member of the Thomson Lions Club. He was a member of the Thomson First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include his three sisters, Sara J. (Austin) Pruitt, Washington, Marjorie J. Allen, Thomson, and Birdie J. (Bryan) Craft, Athens; a sister-in-law, Marguerite Cartledge 'Mickie' Johnson, Thomson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bill Howard, Bill Mabry, Sam Rabun, Franklin Banks, Wallace Averitt, and Wallace Hadden.
