Shawn Leslie Stribel and Julian Andrew Waller were united in marriage at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Macedonia Methodist Church in Warrenton. Rev. Jay Tenney officiated.
Shawn is the daughter of John and Regina Stribel of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of Mamie Higdon and the late Jack Higdon of Boneville and Gene Stribel and the late Margie Stribel of Thomson. The bride is a 2000 graduate of Thomson High School and a 2007 graduate of Aiken Technical College of South Carolina, with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed on the cardiology floor at MCG Health, Inc., as a registered nurse.
Andy is the son of Jimmy and Jane Waller of Thomson. He is the grandson of Lona Land and the late Roney Land and Gerry Waller and the late Ben Waller, all of Thomson. The groom is a 2000 graduate of Thomson High School. He attended Presbyterian College and is now employed by ORICA USA as an explosives engineer.
Given in marriage by her father, Shawn chose her friend, Amber Lamar of Augusta to serve as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Denisse Felix of Thomson, friend of the bride; and Johhna Rogers of Evans, sister of the groom. Flower girl was Olivia Waller of Thomson, niece of the groom.
Andy chose his brother, Clint Waller of Thomson, to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Brandon Downs of Columbia, S.C. and Bryan Smith of Augusta, both friends of the groom. Ringbearer was Raziel Felix of Thomson, son of friend of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall of Macedonia Methodist Church in Warrenton where they celebrated with family and friends. The newlyweds honeymooned at the Preserve Resort in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. The couple resides in Thomson.
