Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. Powell of Thomson announce the engagement of their daughter, Darcy Emerson Powell to George Grady Hayes II, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Hayes of Dearing. The wedding will be held on Saturday, June 23.
Miss Powell is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emory Lee Rawlins of Macon and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Cullen Powell of Montrose, Ga. She is a graduate of Thomson High School and attended Augusta State University and Augusta Technical College. She is currently employed at the New Moon Cafe in Augusta.
Mr. Hayes is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Joseph Kaminski of Appling and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Grady Hayes of Thomson. He is a graduate of Augusta Technical College with a diploma in printing graphics technology and is pursuing a degree in graphic design. He is currently employed with G&J Express, Inc.
