THOMSON, Ga. -- Robert K. 'Bud' Cavnor, 73, of Thomson, entered into rest April 26, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lenace Jeanette Cavnor for 55 years.
Mr. Cavnor was born in Hot Springs, Ark., but lived in McDuffie and Lincoln Counties for the past 40 years. He was the son of the late Jasper T. Cavnor and the late Bonnie Davis English. Mr. Cavnor was retired from the U.S. Navy, served during the Korean Conflict, served three tours in Vietnam, and received a Purple Heart medal for his service. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW #7787, a member of the Evans American Legion and served on the Georgia Regional Hospital Administration.
Survivors include his wife, Lenace Jeanette Cavnor, Thomson; sons, Tim Cavnor, Petersburg, Va., and Scott Cavnor, Thomson; daughter, Bonnie Jacobs, Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother, Doyl Cavnor, Hot Springs, Ark.; sister, Geri Scoggins, Smyrna; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Fannie Robinette, Kingsport, Tenn. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert K. Cavnor, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Faulk officiating. Interment was held Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Culpeper Nation Cemetery in Culpeper, Va., with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
