THOMSON, Ga. -- Mrs. Louise Benson, 71, widow of Mr. Robert Benson, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 in Doctors Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the Fort Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Phillip Bray officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Benson was a native of McDuffie County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of Fort Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Kitchens and a step-daughter, Jean Usry.
She is survived by her two daughters, Priscilla (Karl) Keen, Guyton, and Cindy (Tony) Simons, Warrenton; her four sons, Billy (Darlene) Kitchens, Ricky (Beth Lowery) Kitchens, Tommy (Ferrell Ann Vinson) Kitchens, and Glenn (Paula) Kitchens, all of Thomson; two sisters, Helen Welch, Thomson and Evelyn Johnson, Belvedere, S.C.; a brother, Alex Phillips, Dearing; a stepson, Grady (Peggy) Benson; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were David Kitchens, Warren Kitchens, Jr., Martin Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Richard Welch and Alex Phillips, Jr.
