Mr. George A. "Ollie" Brown
Retired US Postal Service

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. George A. "Ollie" Brown, 73, husband of Jackie Brown, entered into rest Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Doctors Hospital.

Mr. Brown was a native of Lincolnton and a lifetime resident of the Augusta area. He was retired after 33 years from the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Brown owned Rhodes-Murphy Tax Office Franchise in Lincolnton. He was a Baptist. He was a longtime, loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs and enjoyed gardening.

Family members in addition to his wife include his daughters Kim Robinson (Tommy) of Martinez, Rene Suggs (Dale) of Thomson; sons Keith Brown (Dani) of North Augusta, Kevin Brown (Karen) of Martinez; grandchildren Stephanie Robinson (Stephen), Michael Robinson, Jason Robinson, Jaime Putnam (Eli), Sean Suggs, Kailyn Brown, Ramsey Brown, Blake Moore, Anne Cevales; three great-grandchildren; brothers Lanier Brown, Ed Brown and sisters: Brenda Mercer (Tommy) and Judy Barber.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 3, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Tony Rhodes officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
