Mary Kathryn Thompson and Steven Allen Aycox were united in marriage at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at The First United Methodist Church in Thomson. The Rev. Thomas Alfred Kerr officiated.

Mary Kathryn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Everette Thompson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Beazley Sisson and Mrs. Everette Horace Thompson and the late Mr. Everette Horace Thompson, all of Thomson.

Steven is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Beryl Aycox. He is the grandson of Mrs. John Wilson and the late Mr. John Wilson of Grovetown, and Mrs. Thomas Aycox and the late Mr. Thomas Aycox of Dearing.

Given in marriage by her father, Mary Kathryn chose her sisters, Lee Anna Meadows of Dallas, Texas, and Amy Lynn Beckham of Decatur, to serve as matrons of honor.

Steven chose his brothers, Joseph Curtis Aycox of Warrenville, S.C. and The Rev. Craig Aaron Aycox of Lincolnton, to serve as best men. Serving as ushers were John Hatcher Sisson of Warrenton, cousin of the bride, Joel Gregory Meadows of Dallas, Texas and Jason Alexander Beckham of Decatur, both brothers-in-law of the bride.

Scripture was read by Elizabeth Jones Sisson, cousin of the bride. Carrie Lokey, friend of the bride and Amanda Aycox, cousin of the groom served as program attendants. Musical offerings were given by Mrs. David Joesbury. Mrs. George Allen Lokey was the director of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Belle Meade Country Club in Thomson. After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple will reside in Augusta.
