Mr. James C. Phillips
Retired Civil Service

THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. James C. Phillips, 82, of Thomson, entered into rest May 8, 2007, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Jessie Hillman Phillips.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Revs. John Jenkins and Mike Sutphin officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Thad Johnson, Alan Johnson, John Reed, Bobby Phillips, Greg Phillips, Dennis Phillips and Sport Wiley. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Reedy Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Phillips was a native of McDuffie County and the son of the late John and Essie Tudor Phillips. He was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, served as a deacon for 35 years and a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Trucking Association of Georgia, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include: wife, Jessie Hillman Phillips; son, James Edward Phillips, Thomson; brothers, John (Dee) Phillips, Port Arthur, Tex., Gene Phillips, Columbus, Ga., Jack Phillips, Wrens; sisters, Ida Belle Remsen, Lincolnton, Dovie Reed, Lincolnton, Doris Harwell, Virginia Beach, Va.
