Mr. John Thomas Harnesberger

APPLING, Ga. - Mr. John Thomas Harnesberger, 67, husband of Maria Harnesberger, entered into rest Tuesday May 9, 2006, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2006, at Damascus Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joe Hester officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Harnesberger was born in Lincolnton, and had retired from Olin Corporation. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Harlem Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Damascus Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Harnesberger; one son, Willie B. Pate, Atlanta; two daughters, Linda Grooms (Tim), Martinez, and Janet Powell (Boog), Kekaha, Hawaii; one sister, Jo Ann Palmer, Thomson; five grandchildren, Ginger and William Grooms, Reed and Parker Powell, and Jaimie Pate. He was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Pate.

Pallbearers were Stewart Cartledge, Johnny Leonard, Gene Palmer, C.H. Williams, Eddie Yelton, and Jack Yelton.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the Damascus Baptist Church Building Fund, 6375 Ridge Road, Appling, GA 30802.

Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
