Grace, from Blythewood, S.C., is the daughter of Daniel Lee and Renee' Edwards Spears. Grace is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.O. "Billy" Edwards of Sumter. Her grandmother, Sandra Jernigan Edwards, was Miss Sumter 1956 and participated in the Miss South Carolina pageant that same year. Grace is also the granddaughter of the late Percy M. Spears of Augusta, and Mary Spears Smith of Thomson. She is the step-granddaughter of the late Barney Watson Smith of Thomson.
Grace will participate in the Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2006 Pageant, at The North Chareston Performing Arts Theatre, in North Charleston on November 18-19. As Miss Aiken Teen USA 2004-05, Grace competed in the 2005 Miss South Carolina Teen USA Pageant last fall, winning thirrd runner-up out of nine contestants.
Grace will be a rising senior at Ridge View High School, where she is on the 2004-2005 State Championship Girls Lacrosse Team. Grace is also the National Teen Spokesperson for the Scoliosis Association, Inc. and the Co-President of The Scoliosis Association of South Carolina, Chapter #42. Grace, began competing in pageants in 2001 and has held many local, state, regional, and national titles, including Miss Teen Blythewood 2003 and Miss Sophomore Ridge View High School 2004.
