1st Sgt. Delston H. Branch

Army National Guard 1st Sgt. Delston H. Branch is a member of the 48th Brigade Combat Team who recently participated in one of the most realistic scenarios offered by the U.S. Army at the National Training Center (NTC), Fort Irwin, Calif. The Georgia National Guard soldier is a member of the 1st Battalion, 108th Armor Regiment based in Calhoun, with units in Canton and Dalton.

The 48th Brigade Combat Team, headquartered in Macon, is comprised of 31 units in Georgia and six units from other states with a combined total strength of more than 4,000 soldiers.

1st Sgt. Branch is the son of Don L. and Christine H. Branch of Thomson. His wife, Bonnie, is the daughter of Bob Caney of Buckhead, Ga.

He is a 1983 graduate of Thomson High School.

Spec. Jerry M. Garner

Army National Guard Spec. Jerry M. Garner is a member of the 48th Brigade Combat Team who recently participated in one of the most realistic scenarios offered by the U.S. Army at the National Training Center (NTC), Fort Irwin, Calif. The Georgia National Guard member is assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment based in Valdosta.

The 48th Brigade Combat Team, headquartered in Macon, is comprised of 31 units in Georgia and six units from other states with a combined total strength of more than 4,000 soldiers.

Spec. Garner, an infantryman, is the son of James M. and Joyce H. Garner of Dearing.

He graduated in 1986 from Thomson High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 1995 from Augusta State University.

Spec. Bill Rogers, Jr.

Army Spec. Bill Rogers, Jr. is a member of the 48th Brigade Combat Team who recently participated in one of the most realistic scenarios offered by the U.S. Army at the National Training Center (NTC), Fort Irwin, Calif. The Georgia National Guard member is assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment based in Valdosta.

Rogers, a cannon crewmember, is the son of Lessie Rogers of Thomson.

Pvt. Leterance M. Turman

Army Pvt. Leterance M. Turman has graduated from the Automated Logistical Specialist Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

The course is designed to train soldiers to establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, materiel control, accounting and support reports, automated and manual accounting records; perform stock record/warehouse functions pertaining to receipt, storage, distribution and issue and maintain equipment records and parts; review and verify bills of lading, contracts, and purchase orders; repair and construct shipping crates for equipment and supplies, and perform prescribed loads and shop stock lists in manual and automated supply applications.

Pvt. Turman is the son of Eddie T. Turman and Janice M. Burnett, both of Thomson.

He is a 2003 graduate of Thomson High School.
