Mrs. Sara Rabun Widener
HARLEM, Ga. -- Mrs. Sara Rabun Widener, 79, widow of Rev. Billy Widener, of Harlem, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 in the Doctors Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 PM Monday, May 16, 2005 in the Faith Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Drawdy and Rev. Don Reeves officiating. Burial was in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Widener was a native of McDuffie County, but had lived in Harlem for many years. She was retired from the McDuffie County School System where she had worked in the lunchroom for many years. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William R. "Billy" Widener, and she is survived by three sons, Dr. Don Widener, Grovetown, Bobby Widener and Gussie Widener, both of Harlem; two brothers, Samuel B. Rabun and Billy Rabun, both of Thomson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Adam Widener, Troy Widener, Brian Widener, Jay Widener, Chad Widener and Kenneth Brackett.
Donations may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund.
