The event raised more than $39,000, according to hospital and foundation spokeswoman Debbie Jones.

First place in the tournament went to Baird & Company, while Owens & Minor picked up second and

First National Bank in Thomson came in third.

No one won the hole-in-one contests sponsored by Thomson Motor Center.

Mrs. Jones said a "ball drop" contest at the tournament was a tremendous success with all 450 tickets sold. Winners of the drop were: first place and $1,000 to Nancy Freeman, second place and $500 to Michael Parris, and third place and $250 to Elaine Newsome. MRMC President Doug Keir "won" the farthest from the hole and $150.

Winners in the putting contest were: first place -- Glenn Stephens, second place -- Rob McRae, third place -- David Grant.
