WARRENTON, Ga. - Two new assistant football coaches have joined the staff of Warren County High School, according to Head Coach Lee Hutto.
Coach Keith Johnson, a 2000 graduate of Briarwood Academy, grew up in Warrenton. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he spent four years.
He is married to the former Virginia Barmore of Thomson.
Coach Johnson will serve as the wide receiver coach next football season.
Coach Keyton Wilson, meanwhile, will become the new offensive and defensive line coach. This past season, he was an assistant coach at Washington-Wilkes Middle School. He is hoping to do his student teaching at Warren County High School when the new school year begins in the summer, according to Coach Hutto.
Coach Wilson will replace former community coach Cemonia Beall, whose full-time job in management at Shaw Industries began conflicting with his coaching responsibilities.
"We're going to miss Coach Beall," Coach Hutto said. "He did a real fine job for us. I think that our two new coaches will be a good addition to our football program."
When Coach Hutto first took over the football program nearly three years ago, he had only three assistant coaches. This last season, he had four assistants. Next season, the staff will be increased to five assistant coaches.
