Maternal great-grandparents are Monnie Hicks and the late W.L. Hicks of Dearing and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland Lanier, Sr. of Appling. Paternal great-grandparents are Luwertha Perdue and the late Roger Perdue and Leila Johnson Nunnally and the late William Terrell Johnson, all of Thomson.
