All sites of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers of McDuffie County have openings which remain in the Summer Enrichment program.
The programs are provided at Thomson Elementary School, Dearing Elementary School, Norris Elementary School and Thomson Middle School and operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday from June 1-29.
The program begins each day with breakfast followed by rotations which include math, reading, science, arts and crafts, technology and recreation. In addition, one day of the week each site visits the Fish Hatchery in Dearing to participate in the "Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs" program to learn how to fish, learn about water safety and the dangers of using drugs.
Educational and recreational field trips are also planned for the program.
Lunch and an afternoon snack are provided each day. The cost of the program is $34 for the summer for one child. Other rates are available upon inquiry.
