The Pine Needle Garden Club met Tuesday, May 10, for its monthly meeting at the lovely home of Susan Komich. The hostesses were Billie Thomas, Frankie Darden, and Charlotte Derry.
All members brought a covered dish for brunch refreshments. There were 19 members present.
President Cindy Wilson called the meeting to order.
The minutes from the April meeting were read by Lucie Wills, serving as secretary in the absence of Caroline Wells. Paige Cochran gave the treasurer's report.
The devotion was given by Judy Giles entitled My Angel Wing Shell by Romona Davis.
Ms. Thomas gave the Garden Council Report and stated that the fall project will be in Washington on Oct. 18.
The Yard of the Month for May was awarded to Bob and Marie Farr on Lee Street in Thomson for the lovely display of irises.
President Wilson reminded members of National Garden Club Week stating that she would be mailing postcards with all pertinent information for that week.
Kathy Locklear introduced the guest speaker, Susan Komich. She thanked Susan for welcoming the group into her home for the meeting and for giving a tour of her gardens.
The arrangement theme for the day was On a Garden Tool (must use one or more garden tools).
