THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral services for Elder Bill Rogers, 78, Thomson, were held on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Springfield Baptist Church, Thomson, with Elder Eddie Moore presiding and Superintendent Lawrence O. Bacon serving as Eulogist. Interment was in Gospel Aide Society Cemetery in Norwood.
Survivors include his wife, Lessie Lou Rogers, Thomson; four sons, Bill Rogers, Jr., Thomson; Roy Rogers, Stone Mountain, Dennis Rogers, Griffin, and Dontavius Rogers, Thomson; six daughters, Willie Mae Pugh, Hephzibah, Shirley McClary, Oakwood Village, Ohio, Velma Reese, Salisbury, N.C., Eloise Moment, Snellville, Linda Cruz, Charlotte, N.C., Beverly Demonds, Appling , four brothers, Willie Rogers, Jr. Augusta, Linton Rogers, Warrenton, Clinton Rogers, Camak, Thomas Rogers, Los Angeles, Cal.; five sisters, Vera Jones, Camak, Mamie Davis, Philadelphia, PA, Evelyn Stevens, Decatur, Gladys Lewis, Camak, Rolean Brown, Los Angeles, Cal., Bessie Wilson, Detroit, MI; 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, three brother-in-laws, four sister-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
