Hospital honored for patient care Special to The Mirror McDuffie Regional Medical Center was recently recognized as a national award winner in healthcare service quality for exceeding patient expectations by Avatar International Inc. MRMC CEO Doug Keir and Hospital Authority Member Ron Shipman pose with the award. In making the announcement, Avatar Founder and CEO Dr. Michael Everett said, "The expectation data has instilled renewed motivation and insight into patient surveys. Hospitals must pause if they are merely monitoring satisfaction. Satisfaction does not give a benchmark into the minds of your patients - not until satisfaction scores are compared to your patients' expectations can you say: We are meeting and exceeding our patients' expectations.
