Dear Editor,
I am just so appalled at the reaction of people with the whole situation of not letting the students who didn't pass their graduation tests walk.
I just cannot believe the number of parents who did not stand up and do something about this. To the parents who have power and authority in Thomson, if it was your child, would you have stood up? I would think so, but a small part of me is saying that if it were some family with a name with power, the school board wouldn't have even put that law into effect. Those students would have walked, no matter what had to be done, even if only the principal, the parents and the student knew that they had failed the test.
I just can't see what the big deal is. What is it hurting to let them walk? Are the members of the Board of Education getting some kind of sick satisfaction?
There is not one good reason they can provide on why these students cannot walk. I just want one of them to give me one good reason, just one. Over half of Thomson hates you now, I hope you're happy. And I hope you're even happier with all the problems that are going to be caused due to this decision.
